How to Pack for a Move Like a Pro
4 min read
Good packing is half the move. Organized, labeled boxes turn unpacking from a nightmare into a matter of hours.
Golden rules
- Heavy items in small boxes, light items in big ones
- No empty gaps — fill with paper or towels
- One box, one room
- Write on the side, not just the lid
Dishes and fragile items
Wrap each plate separately and stand them on edge, like records. Stuff glasses with paper and wrap the outside. Mark 'fragile' on two sides.
Clothes
Hanging clothes can travel on their hangers inside a large trash bag. Folded clothes go in suitcases — so they're put to use.
Our labeling system
A color per room, a number per box and a short contents list. Stick the same color on the room's door in the new home — and movers know exactly where everything goes.
